Privacy Policy

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This document is a working template. It must be reviewed by a Quebec-licensed attorney before public launch. Also review compliance with Quebec's Law 25 (Loi 25) and Canada's PIPEDA.



1. Who we are


Unique Ebook is operated by Steve Dynamics, a sole proprietorship registered in Quebec, Canada. Contact: support@stevedynamics.com


2. What we collect


  • **Account data:** name, email address, hashed password.
  • **Purchase data:** ebook slug, amount paid, purchase date, order/session ID.
  • **Payment data:** processed exclusively by **Stripe, Inc.** — we never see or store your card number.
  • **Google login (optional):** name, email, profile picture (from Google OAuth).
  • **Technical data:** IP address, browser type, language preference — collected only for anti-fraud and troubleshooting.

    • 3. What we do NOT collect


  • We do not collect your physical address unless you request a paper receipt.
  • We do not track you across other websites.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.

    • 4. Legal basis (Quebec Law 25)


    We process your personal data based on: (a) the contract you enter with us at purchase; (b) our legitimate interest to prevent fraud and improve the service; (c) your explicit consent for optional marketing emails.


    5. Cookies & analytics


    We use a single session cookie (`session_token`) to keep you logged in. This cookie is httpOnly, secure, and cannot be read by third parties. We do not use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).


    6. How long we keep your data


  • Account & purchases: **as long as your account is active**, plus 7 years for tax purposes (Revenue Quebec / CRA).
  • Payment transactions: **7 years** (legal obligation).
  • Server logs: **90 days**.

    • 7. Your rights


    Under Quebec Law 25 and Canada's PIPEDA, you have the right to:


  • **Access** the personal data we hold about you.
  • **Correct** any inaccurate data.
  • **Delete** your account and associated personal data (except records we are legally required to keep).
  • **Portability**: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • **Withdraw consent** at any time.

    8. Where your data is stored


    Data is stored on servers located in Canada (or a region reserved for Canadian customers). Payment data is processed by Stripe, whose data-processing agreement complies with Quebec Law 25 and GDPR.


    9. Data breach notification


    In the event of a confirmed data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec within 72 hours, as required by Law 25.


    10. Children


    Unique Ebook is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.


    11. Changes to this policy


    We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days in advance.
